About the Author

            Minister Allen Wicks was born and reared in the city of East St. Louis, Illinois where he attended the public school system in East St. Louis.  Minister Wicks is a graduate of Southern Illinois University (SIUE) at Edwardsville, IL where he obtained his B.S. in Human Services with a minor in Health Education.  While attending SIUE, Minister Wicks served two terms as President and one term as Chaplain of the SIU Gospel Choir.  Mr. Wicks also worked with the National Black Choir Workshop and the Gospel Music Workshop of America.

            Minister Wicks has been employed with the Illinois Department of Children and family Services as a Child Welfare Specialist for over fifteen years.  Minister Wicks is a certified and licensed Child Welfare Specialist with the State of Illinois.  Minister Wicks has also worked as Certified Drug Counselor, certified Drug Prevention Specialist, and a Supervisor.  Minister Wicks has also served in the capacity of a Trainer, on various topics surrounding Human Services, for various Social Service Agencies and religious organizations. 

            From 1997 to 2008, Minister Wicks hosted “Lets Talk Music”, a bible-based, gospel music talk show that addresses pertinent issues within the Gospel music industry and ministry.  This program aired Tuesday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm on KSTL, 690 (AM), St. Louis, Missouri.  Minister Wicks is the founder of “Motivation-N-Praise Ministries”, a bible teaching and music ministry that is designed to educate the body of Christ concerning their purpose and destiny in Christ and how God designed us to fill all our roles as instruments of praise and worship within the earth.  This ministry is designed to bring deliverance, restoration, and healing to those who are not functioning within their purpose and destiny in Christ.

            Minister Wicks is a licensed and ordained minister who has been teaching and preaching the word of God for over 20 years Minister Wicks also has a loving and caring family.
