SCENE !: MARY MAGDALENE BAILIFF: This court is in session. Judge Arnold presiding. Judge: Bailiff, what is the charge? Bailiff: Your Honor, Mary Magdalene and some followers of Jesus have been quoted as saying that Jesus Christ, Mary's Son, the one who was crucified, died and was buried rose from the dead. , and is still alive among us today. This saying has embarrased and annoyed the chief priests, and the leaders of the synagogue; the same ones who handed him over to be condemned to death. These officials want you to listen to, and interrogate the witnesses of this false charge and render a just decision. Your Honor, Question #1 is this: Is Jesus of Nazareth ALIVE, or is he DEAD and BURIED? Your Honor, Question #2 is this: Is Mary Magdalene spreading lies about this Jesus? Judge: Very well, call the first witness. Bailiff: [in aloud voice] Mary Magdalene!!! Enter Mary Magdalene Judge: State your name and address.

About the Author
Claudette Francis devoted more than half a century to teaching children in Elementary schools, in her native country Guyana, and in Canada. Francis used drama as a popular form of teaching, and she adapted stories into plays for her students, who performed them on stage. Francis is now retired and lives in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. She is spending a portion of her retirement years to continue writing drama, and other inspirational books. She is also the author of ''The Mystery of the Resurrection," "The Mystery of the Nativity," "Study Guide and Workbook to accompany the Mystery of the Nativity," and "Children's Bible Stories Workbook."
