One Thing Leads to Another

Mick Down was a short fat man of forty three with a hairy back the tufts of which  peeked out shyly from under the edges of his tight AC/DC sleeveless T shirt. …..He wore hearing aids in both ears and had a ring in his nose. His jeans were baggy to accommodate his big belly and.............He was smoking a roll up cigarette the smoke of which drifted up to the ceiling where over the years it had left a dark brown stain. It continued across the room and wafted over a table upon which sat incense burners, a Buddha head, clay Dragons, Tibetan prayer wheels and chimes.  Lazily ensconced in comfort on the armchair was Harley, a black dog the size of a Labrador but which had a mixed heritage of Greyhound and corgi. It intrigued more inquisitive visitors that the father was the corgi. One bright spark had queried how fast the greyhound mother had been able to run….. ….Of the two, Harley was the more intelligent as basically Mick was incompetent, as a thinker and especially as a tattooist. You will discover his incompetence had no bounds……………..

In direct contrast was his older brother Edward (Officer Down)… As Edward grew up he became obsessed with the armed forces, especially the SAS. Rambo was his biggest hero. Another was Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry…He loved guns. Officer Down surveyed his “patch”…. adjusted his belt for comfort which held his CS spray…, 9mm Glock17 in its holster and the 9mm MP5 machine gun…he  felt secure inside his ballistic body armour. As an extra precaution he had a hunting knife strapped to his left ankle. With an aggressive expression, eyes closed to narrow slits like Clint Eastwood at his most aggressive in Dirty Harry, he strutted slowly through the crowds of people like Robocop. ‘Excuse me officer’ a small, slightly querulous voice enquired from behind him.

  “Damn they’re quick” he thought and spun round to check his adversary.

A short, rotund, friendly faced women, a bit like your favourite Aunt I suppose, carrying a heavily laden Sainsbury’s bag stood there looking perplexed. ……..
