About the Book
The book is a collection of recipes from a number of different sources. Where she could remember, she gave the information of where or from whom she got the recipes. Some are her own. It has a lot of wonderful desserts, jams and jellies and main courses that have been very successful.
About the Author
The full name of the author is Mary V. Herrington. Her nickname is Jennie. She was born in Miami, Fla. During World War II, she, along with her mother and brother moved to her mother's home town, Laurel, MS, where they lived until Mary was 13. At that time they returned to Miami where she went to school and married. Years later she returned to Laurel, MS and met her husband Roland Herrington (Chuck). In 2001 they moved to east Tennessee where they live now. For a number of years Mary had thought about writing a cookbook. Now seemed like a good time to "step up to the plate". Between them Jennie and Chuck have four children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She has tried to add a little humor along with the recipes because this is her nature. To her, if she can make you smile or get a laugh out of you her day has been worthwhile. Her family and her Lord and her church, Shepherd's Glory in Townsend, Tennessee are the most important things in in her life.
