Courage and pride motivated this lawsuit. And to all of you who read this book, please heed the warning I impose upon you for believing that Wal-Mart is a good and honest neighbor.
"Shocks the conscience" and "the jury was made up from a group of unsophisticated citizens" cried Wal-Mart's elite team of defense lawyers after the verdict.
Wal-Mart was pitiful in representing any defense for their actions, and actually felt they could waltz into small town America and "rough shod" over the citizens there. After fining Wal-Mart $120,000 in Davis vs. Wal-Mart Stores, Inc., the trial judge wrote "Rarely has this court seen such a pattern of deliberate obfuscation, delay, misrepresentation, and down right lying to another party and this court." (979 S.W. 2d30 Texas Ct. App. 1998)
"Not only in this court, but in others as well, Wal-Mart has demonstrated a pattern of desiring to flaunt the rules, to hide, to cheat, and to give false answers under oath. About the Author
For 12 years Lamon Griggs was a State Trooper, training officer and instructor with the Mississippi Highway Patrol, before retiring and starting his own auto accident investigation and reconstruction company. A fixture in various state and federal courthouses, he is consistently called upon for expert testimony in accident cases. This expertise is what attracted Walmart to initially hire him as their Driver Safety Director.
Griggs has an extensive background in law enforcement, including narcotics enforcement, forensic training, police administration and organization, law enforcement fitness, criminal law, riot control, firearms and explosives, and crime scene and accident investigation/reconstruction. Griggs also serves as Court Bailiff and Security for all county Circuit and Chancery Court filings and trials.
Griggs has been featured and interviewed on numerous Talk Show Radio Stations and Matrix Television Networks across the U. S. and Canada. He receives numerous request and guest invitations weekly from various talk show and entertainment media.
