About the Book

Mrs Kirkup has three daughters and four grandchildren and has told stories all her life. She thought she should put them down on paper for the young members of her family before it is too late. This is Mary Kirkup’s second book about Granny Grunt who has had a collection of unusual animals. She is able to talk to them in their own language and encourage the local children to spend their spare time learning how to care for them.
