About the Book
Digger Rabbit's many tunnels take him to see the wondrous works of Jesus. One day, a tunnel takes him to the scene of the Crucifixion. Distraught, Digger returns to his burrow, where he spends 3 days and 3 nights mourning the death of Jesus. Feeling hungry, he makes a new tunnel, which he hopes will find him food. This tunnel brings him out to a beautiful garden, where he finds....JESUS... alive and well! A charming tale to introduce 'little ones' to the Christian Message and give them an initial understanding of Easter.
About the Author
Evelyn Speed is a retired nurse.Happily married with 2 children and 4 grandchildren, she lives with her husband near the Solent coastline in Hampshire. Many years ago, when very actively involved with a children's church group, Evelyn invented a rabbit glove puppet called Digger. With the help of large pictures with holes in them, Digger would poke his head through and become part of the picture stories of the Gospel. Digger became a children's favourite, as each week he brought another story from the bible. Encouraged by the children and parents, Evelyn composed a book form of the most important story of all, which you are now able to share. Digger spent a long time hidden away in his 'burrow', but now Evelyn has allowed him to venture into public life again, in the form of this book. This is her first book, although hopefully not her last..........
