Brian Hepburn was born in 1957 in Wiarton, Ontario, the ground hog capital of Canada. Like most of his generation, he went ‘out west’ and worked during the oil boom of the seventies but later returned to Ontario. Following four years in the military, he then pursued his teaching credentials at Queen’s University at Kingston. After a career of some twenty years teaching high school in Toronto, he retired to Grey County where he presently enjoys life with his wife, Loretta, in a splendid old Victorian home in the small hamlet of Ayton, Ontario. During those twenty years in Toronto, the author never once forgot his roots. Towards the end of his time in the city, many of the stories in this book began to be written down. His purpose now is to share the magic and splendor of those experiences from his youth that made him what he is today.
