About the Book
Black Cotton is a collection of short stories that depict actual events in the life of the author. The setting for the stories is the small town of Mill Creek, Oklahoma in the 1950's and early 1960's. Small town life is seen through the eyes of a young boy as he experiences a variety of adventures and learns some hard lessons as well. The stories strive to capture the flavor of living in a much slower time, and the people who made up small town America over five decades ago.
About the Author
Ted Pittman, writing under the pen name "Peter Lynn" grew up in small town America in the 1950's and 1960's. He is married with four grown children and nine grandchildren. Ted is a business manager and has worked for the same company for nearly forty years. He still resides in southern Oklahoma, not far from the small town that is the setting of this book. He still enjoys many of the pursuits described in "Black Cotton" and enjoys family and the outdoors. The title of this book came from the name of Ted's first horse at the age of five. The horse, by the way, was a sorrel.
