In a village in southern India lived a man with his wife and his baby. He was very grumpy and impatient. He fought with all his friends for silly reasons. Healways jumped to conclusions without knowing the facts. All the villagers distancedthemselves from him and he did not have many friends. Snakes were very common in the village. The man had a mongoose for his pet to keepthe snakes at bay. Snakes and mongooses were natural enemies. The mongoose is a very agile animal. It is quick to react and so they always got away unharmed in their fight with snakes. One sunny afternoon, as the man had been out, his wife and baby were havingan afternoon nap in the hall. In old village houses in India, the hall was long and had spaced pillars supporting it. The roof was made of sunburnt bricks and there were gaps between some of the tiles. Escaping the scorching heat outside, a highly poisonous black cobra slowly crept in through the gaps and slid down one of the pillars.

Grandpa's Bedtime Tales is a collection of very interesting tales that will appeal not only to young children but also to adults. These stories were a part of the authors childhood and have been narrated with the same wit and light heartedness to make them as enjoyable to all readers alike. Each story also carries a moral and aims to share this wisdom with everyone, especially the young readers. These stories are also an attempt by the author to bring awareness on morals and values amongst young children to make a better tomorrow.
About the Author
Sri Barrow was born in a middle class family in India. She graduated in English Literature in 1993. After graduation she opted a career in IT and worked for more than a decade. As a mother and wife, and with encouragement from her husband, she decided to call quits to her IT profession to pursue her lifelong yearning to write a book. She had always wanted to write books that are light but thought provoking. From very young, she naturally developed interest in philosophy and psychology. In her college years she was greatly inspired by works of Tagore, Vivekananda, Wordsworth, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, Emerson, Milton, Shakespeare, Richard Bach and Scott Peck to name some.
