About the Author

About the Author Ruth Ann Mueller was born and raised in Wisconsin and still resides in the small village of Palmyra. She married right out of High School and raised five children. After the last child left home she enrolled in a writing course from the Institute of Children's Literature followed by two writing courses from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Ruth Ann worked at the local newspaper, The Palmyra Enterprise, as Office Manager for seventeen years and now holds the position of Independent Correspondent for the Enterprise. She also served on the Board of Directors of the Palmyra Historical Society, The Palmyra Village Board and the Palmyra Historic Commission. Ruth Ann is a member of the Palmyra Womans Club, St. Matthew Lutheran Church and the Palmyra Chamber of Commerce. She has written six books for the Palmyra Historical Society, on the history of Palmyra, and has been the author of the Palmyra Tourism Book for the last two years. Ruth Ann has also operated her own Avon business for over fourteen years. About the Illustrator Ann Kleinhans has always enjoyed being creative. One of her fondest childhood memories is of painting at the kitchen table as a little girl with her grandmother. Throughout her school years she continued to paint and draw and won several awards for her art. After high school she studied art and design at MATC in Milwaukee. In 2005, Ann completed her studies at Art Instruction Schools in St. Paul, Minnesota. For the past twenty-four years she has worked as a graphic artist. Among her many accomplishments, she has also done mural painting and designed CD & book covers. Ann enjoys living in the country near Palmyra, WI, with her husband Kevin and their daughters Amy and Grace. Like her grandmother, Ann is passing on her art talents to her own daughters.
