About the Book

This unique collection showcases the darker side of human emotion through a myriad of poems and short stories. The poetry is a manifestation of the anger, sadness, rage and ultimate lack of control that encompass the thoughts of each of us at various points in our life. Three short stories cover three very distinct genres. The first story, “In the Dark”, allows a glimpse into the world of Meg, a young woman who has enjoyed a full and successful life which is abruptly interrupted by her encounter with a psychotic killer. She is forced into a battle of wills to protect what she cherishes the most. The next story, “Last Night on Earth”, is based on Andrea Leigh's account of the many strange and unexplained events that occurred one summer night. You decide where truth ends and fiction begins. Keep in mind, truth really is stranger than fiction. The anchor story for this compilation is “The Other Side of Twilight”. This story is set in a decimated post World War III America. Two women, Alaina and Alyson, attempt to move forward with their lives after learning of their husbands' death on their return trip home from the war. Soon after hearing the news, the two women are abducted and placed at a top-secret government base. Here they not only learn the truth behind their abduction, they also learn another disturbing secret that hides behind the razor-wire. Alaina and Alyson use any means necessary to avoid being separated which includes a  forbidden alliance. But, will it be enough to keep them alive?
