‘OK.’ He told Sidney. ‘Be a hero. here, -catch this...’
With that, he hurled the bomb at the little chap.
All eyes were on the bomb, as it travelled past its target, and on to destinations unknown.
There was a general scramble as everyone tried to get further under the sheltering tables.
Suddenly, there was a terrific explosion. This immediately told everyone that the bomb had landed!
Everybody was coughing now, as the smoke, mingled with that of cigarettes and fine cigars, (a deadly mixture), was choking them.
In fact, there was General Chaos, (who was there together with his Wife, Mrs. Chaos.)
Eventually however, things quietened down a bit. The smoke cleared and it was time to assess the damage.
By this time, Lofty and his mates had disappeared of course, together with the loot, to boot, -despite Sidney's gallant efforts.
‘THE BAND!’ General Chaos exclaimed. ‘ It hit the band!’

This book is part of a series set in the fictional county of Bedside. It tells the story of a jazz/rock band, The Saints, who get blown up and find themselves in sub-paradise, fighting for the right to return to Earth. They meet all sorts of crazy characters on their adventure. culminating in The Grand Trial, A totally off-the-wall adventure.
About the Author
Pete Perry is an author of children's stories, environmental books, and autobiographical books. He is 73 years old, and lives with his 35-year old wife Nikki in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, UK. He is well-known in the UK for his views on the environment and social justice, and has written many features for the horticultural press. He is also an accomplished artist and cartoonist, providing illustrations for features and books. He produced the illustrations for this book
