Learn to exude super-confidence
There is a secret that celebrities, sports stars, politicians, actors and anyone else in the media or public spotlight have to learn very quickly if they want to stay at the top of their game. It’s a very simple secret but it is extremely effective. It’s how to exude super-confidence.
Super-confidence is more than just ‘ordinary’ confidence. Ordinary confidence is something we acquire as we travel through our lives. It’s something that happens naturally as we learn and develop skills both in the workplace and during our leisure time. We can all relate to that feeling of terror and inadequacy when starting a new job or new hobby – but over time we are able to adapt and learn until things we were scared to attempt become second nature to us.
So confidence is basically something that grows with us and helps us tackle the demands of daily life. But what then is this thing called “super-confidence”?
We see super-confidence in the people we admire who seem to breeze through difficult situations with a steely determination – the sort of people who seem unflappable in a crisis. These are people who tackle problems head on without flinching, people who never seem to get nervous or jittery, people who seem to thrive on challenge and look relaxed even when those around them are getting stressed. We tend to admire that kind of self control because it implies that the person possesses an inner sense of deep conviction that manifests itself by being in control of the emotions as well as being in control of the situation.
The fact is that there are very few people who are lucky enough to possess this quality naturally. The reality is that the majority of people who exude ‘super-confidence’ learned to exude it the same way others learned to play the piano or learned to ride a bike.
This means that almost anyone has the ability to learn this skill and then apply it to their lives. Just imagine for a moment how good it would feel to portray super-confidence – and don’t confuse this with arrogance, superiority or snobbery which can be unpleasant side effects that some people unfortunately suffer from.
With super-confidence you could walk into job interviews with total belief in yourself. Giving presentations or speeches would be a joy. Socialising would come naturally and just plain down to earth feeling-good-about-yourself would be normality. Sound good?
If TLF is about taking life by the horns and steering it in your own way then super-confidence is the fuel that provides the power to achieve. So how, you might ask, do you acquire such a fuel? The answer is easy. You already have it.
Super-confidence is nothing more than a state of mind. If you want to appear super-confident then BE super-confident, act super-confident, talk super-confident and then exude super-confidence. Believe me it really is that simple. Even if you have nagging doubts lingering inside, even if you feel a sham – never ever show it. The more you ACT super-confident the quicker you will actually BECOME super-confident.
Look at yourself in the mirror, stand tall, shoulders back then look yourself in the eyes and tell yourself that you are in total control of your life and your emotions. Keep telling yourself this message then smile confidently and keep that smile on your face as you turn away from the mirror. Let me say it again ‘super-confidence is nothing more than a state of mind’ you already have it inside you - so go find it and nurture it. It will serve you well.
