About the Book

Spring Break seemed like a good idea to Marina and Salomé at the time.  Sea, sand, and fun in the sun. But when they found themselves suddenly stranded on a small island, fun was no longer an option.  Taking cover from a storm in a cave in a cliff, survival becomes top priority as the young women pray for their brother Jackson to come and rescue them.  Morning brings rescue, however not in the form of Jackson.

Carlos Gaitano was young, strong, handsome, and smart.  He had his own ships and his own island.  Being the head pirate of the Gaitano dynasty did not hurt.  But right now he struggled with the implications of the reality of his books.  Numbers did not lie.  He needed help and he needed it fast.  Coming home, however, he found his brother Indio distracted by the visitors.  Little did he realize that the help he needed was there, waiting for him, in the form of Marina.

Together, they worked to put things back in order, striving to save his empire.  What they didn't count on was the storm that swept over their hearts.

About the Author

María del Mar was born in Luquillo, a small beach town on the northeastern tip of Puerto Rico.  The oldest of four children, she was raised bilingual from a very early age.  As a young girl, she had the opportunity to live in the United States throughout half of her elementary school.  During that time, she discovered a love for reading that ultimately led to a passion for writing.  She finished her schooling back on the island, where she graduated from the University of Puerto Rico.  During that time, she developed a love for romance novels, time travel stories, and pirates.  These became the three elements of ENCANTADA:  The Pirate Chronicles, her first novel.  She has intermittently lived in the United States throughout the years, but prefers island life in the Caribbean to any other.  María del Mar lives with her son, Chance, in Luquillo, Puerto Rico.
