When they returned, Tobbee knew exactly what the problem was. It was POISON! “Why would someone want to poison us?” Hoppee asked. Tobbee explained that Lillee's new found treasure was a rusty can that once stored poison. The can made her sick. All of a sudden a tear fell from Hoppee's eye. Tobbee reached over and placed his arm around her and said, “Why are you so sad? Lillee is going to be fine.” “But Tobbee,” Hoppee explained, “people made the can, people made the poison, and a person threw the poisoned can into our lake. I am sad because people want to harm us.” Tobbee tried to help Hoppee understand what had happened but knew she would have to learn for herself.
