About the Author

Karen Hall earned a degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.  While attending college, she studied creative writing as well as classical literature and poetry.

Karen Hall is a prolific poet, mixing old poetic methods with current techniques.  In More Coffee, Please!, she uses the process of anastrophe for poetic effect.  This approach places more stress on individual words, creating deeper verse.  Moreover, rhyme enhances each poem.  Furthermore, the number of syllables for each line of verse were counted and sometimes revised for even distribution.  The result is a more rhythmical effect.
