BEATING LIKE DRUMS

Boom, boom, boom beating like drums

Lumps all over her face as big as plums

He puts the keys in the door and she hates when comes

Who would ever think she would hate the sound of drums

In pain she yells and screams hoping someone would come

But no one heard her scream and she’s too afraid to run

Boom, boom, boom the beatings begin

He’s beating her like drums over and over again

He left her on the floor to hear the sounds of her cries

She crawled up in the corner with tears in her eyes

She’s angry now, with revenge on her mind

She said this man has beat me for the very last time

She stood by the door waiting for him to come

He walked in she slit his throat now she doesn’t have to run

She held a kitchen knife as if it was a gun

Her hands still shaking and now her hearts beating like a drum

DEEP

Deep, down deep, as deep as I can go

I got down deep, down deep in my soul

I got so deep I couldn’t let go

Now I’m so deep because I met my soul

We talked, we laughed, we prayed, we cried

I never knew I could get so deep so deep inside

So when I looked, as I steeped outside of myself

I said I had to dig deep to get to know myself

Now I may be too deep for someone else

And if you’re as deep as me, then introduce yourself

NO SCHOOL ON SUNDAY

Monday through Friday we all go to school

But school on Sunday wasn’t a part of the rules

We had English class, Science and Math

We told our teachers we knew our history
