Sicelii knew he was a dead man. Thanks to whatever spell the sorceress had cast he couldn’t teleport to safety.
Wiping sweat from his brow, Sicelii ran into a secret chamber. Inside, various magical items littered the shelves and tables. He began ruthlessly searching each item, tossing aside useless baubles where they crashed upon the floor.
He finally located what he was looking for; a disk that became an extra-dimensional portal created by his old master. It led to another dimension with a small castle.
Flipping the disk at the wall he waited impatiently for it to expand large enough for him to enter, all the while glancing nervously at the door.
The disk had just expanded to full size when Leona and her companions arrived. Seeing them, Sicelii jumped through the disk, saying the command word to close the disk as he passed through.
Leona, seeing the cowardly wizard escaping, leaped after him, just barely getting through as the portal closed behind her.
She landed, rolling to absorb the shock. She glanced up to see the wizard disappearing inside the castle.
Unlike the dimension she’d created this one was simple in design. While hers came complete with trees, grass, sky, weather, and other accessories this dimension was just a small castle on stone. No clouds floated overhead, no wildlife roamed the lands just a castle on stone.
Snorting at the simplicity of wizards, Leona followed the wizard into the castle.
As she approached the castle a fireball zoomed at her. Back-flipping, she took several steps backwards as the fireball landed two feet in front of her. Debris flew in the air, covering her in dust. Glaring up at the parapets, she spotted the wizard striding and strutting back and forth.
“Better run, little sorceress. You can’t beat me!" Sicelii yelled as he pointed his wand, casting another fireball at Leona.
Deftly flipping a jewel on her scimitar’s hilt, she unsheathed her blade and slashed at the fireball. Wind blew the fireball, tossing it back at Sicelii who cried out as he jumped out of the way. The fireball crashed into the wall, sending stone flying.
Grinning, Leona cast a spell of levitation on herself and flew high above the castle. She spotted Sicelii picking himself up and stumbling to the door that led into the castle. Deciding not to give him a chance to get into the castle, she flipped the jewel to the power of ice and released her scimitar’s fury upon the castle. A huge ice storm enveloped the castle in an icy-white blanket. Doors froze on their hinges, cracks in the stone widened, and poor Sicelii huddled on the ground trying to get warm.
Dropping out of the sky, Leona landed a few feet from Sicelii. He huddled in the snow, trembling in an attempt to warm himself. Pointing her scimitar at him, she said, “Surrender, Sicelii. Your life is forfeited for all the misery and pain you’ve caused.”
Through trembling blue lips, Sicelii gasped, “I’ll…never yield…to a…sorceress!”
