About the Author

Born in Collingwood, New Zealand, Alec John Langford spent most of his childhood and youth in Bainham. After attending the Bible College in Dunedin, New Zealand, Alec migrated to the United States for graduate studies to become a minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  He majored in Psychology and Theology for a Bachelor’s degree from Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, a Master’s degree in Psychology from St. Francis College in Fort Wayne, Indiana and two Master’s Degrees in Theology from Butler University and a Doctor of Ministry in Counseling from Christian Theological Seminary in Indianapolis, Indiana.

 

 

 

He served churches in New Zealand, Indiana, Illinois, Virginia, and England.  His final years of ministry were as a Pastoral Counselor at Buchanan Counseling Center, Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis and in private practice.  In 1953 he married Alice Rist, is father of sons Kevin and Scott and daughters Lesli Lanteigne and Fiona Rademacher.  He has four grandchildren.   Three earlier books he has published include devotions, invitations to communion and communion prayers.
