About the Book
Forty-four proverbs, each consisting of four words, and each accompanied by a verse of four lines containing four words. Author Jeff Tay offers a modern rendition of an ancient art form; the traditional Chinese proverb. Using poetry and visual design, The Lucky Swords Book of 44 Proverbs uncovers philosophical perspectives on matters that are often overlooked in a contemporary fast-paced world, with themes ranging from the natural order of the universe, to the consequences of our actions, to human nature, and onto the pursuit of happiness. The forty-four proverbs signify a new age of philosphical thinking that is logical, pragmatic, and universally comprehensive.
About the Author
Jeff Tay's enterprise as a writer began after his senior year in high school, when he realized how unsure he was of what he wanted to do with his future. This uncertainty led him on a search to find meaningful pursuits in life, and while examining the world around him, Jeff was consequently able to encounter plenty to write about. He began by writing stories based on his own life, but struggled to meet his expectations for his own work. Five years and a university degree later, he found himself writing slogans for t-shirts that were being designed by a friend of his, and through this undertaking he unexpectedly discovered a proficiency for poetry, which he later combined with an enthusiasm that he had for philosophy that came out of his years in university. This combination gave him the inspiration that he needed to finally complete a labor that he would be proud of. This labor of his interests eventually became The Lucky Swords Book of 44 Proverbs.
