About the Book

These words have been hidden away for years, tangled in the cobwebs of a life which has taken so much time to blossom. I wanted to share my writing because of the experiences which have inspired each piece and the people who have touched me in ways that you could never imagine. I wanted to be understood for the first time – not as a person, or even a woman… But a poet.

I started writing at the tender age of thirteen. I was bullied severely at school which resulted in counselling, years of self mutilation and pages of words that I thought nobody would ever read. I had my first piece published by a small UK company at the age of fifteen, which was dedicated to my counsellor. Many pieces followed that one and I have had various poems published in the USA since then.

This small collection of poetry is my biggest achievement to date – the majority of these pieces are recent and unread by most. I want this book to be the guiding light for all of those people who have ever been made to believe that they aren’t good enough, or they can’t reach for a dream… Because if I can, anybody can.

Writing has been my saviour and if these words can move mountains to show someone else their dreams, I will be well and truly blessed. Not as a poet, or a woman, but the little girl in me who started writing.

About the Author

I have been writing for a number of years, which has led to possessing a large collection of writing – some of which has already been published in a number of anthologies, put together by various publishers throughout the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

My writing is a huge part of my life – something which I couldn't ever imagine my life without. I always wanted to publish my own book - something which would give the reader an insight into me and to show that no one is ever truly alone, but it seemed quite an impossible task. Who would listen? Yes, I had a track record of being published, but I wasn't high-flying or established as a writer.

It wasn't until the recent loss of both my Granddads, that this passion was enough to push me forward, for them and for their belief in me.

This book is for anyone who has loved, lost, laughed, cried, dreamed and hoped for something better.
