A Beach for Christmas

My description of the swag is that it is a groundsheet, mattress and sleeping bag combined, in canvas material, like a tent. It zips up around the head and the face is covered by a net but the occupant would still be able to see out. It means that the occupant is sleeping under the stars, outside but enclosed.

What stars we saw that night at Jervois. It was the most beautiful sky. no light pollution to spoil the view of the constellations. We picked out the few star groups that we could recognise, bearing in mind that all is different in the southern Hemisphere. What insignificant bodies we were, in the vast expanse of the outback, beneath the brilliance of the Southern Cross.
