After the racist incident at the foundry, I started work with a crowd of lads from Liverpool, After work one day we were walking along the West Wycombe Road, when we saw a notice in a letting house window.It read:
ROOMS TO LET
NO BLACKS
NO IRISH
NO DOGS
We knocked on the door and got a load of abuse from the (non-English) landlord. So my Irish mate Martin ripped the sign down my half- chinese mate Dave took the muzzle off his dog Fang and the landlord got bitten.I then hung the scruffy landlord by his shirt from his own coat peg.Job done, the notice never re-appeared.(early sixties High Wycombe.)
