Gene Cash, Ph.D. (2008 – 2009 President of the National Association for School Psychologists) asked me at my dissertation proposal, “What is your definition of creativity?” CREATIVITY DEFINED is my answer to Dr. Gene Cash’s excellent question. My goal in editing this book was to come up with a thorough and objective explanation of creativity.
In CREATIVITY DEFINED, it is the great writers of the 19th and 20th century who are defining creativity and sharing their insight on ways to be more creative. This book is comprised of lines selected from 27 classic literary works. These lines will allow you to better understand the many facets of creativity. Also, they will encourage you to be more creative in your life.
The CREATIVITY DEFINED INDEX lists components of creativity and the passage numbers in this book in which they are mentioned by the renowned authors. The words that appear in the index and that are in bold print in the selected lines throughout the book are “keywords” that define creativity.
