About the Book
‘Square Pegs’ looks (in the form of essays) at every area of learner inclusion from community engagement and multi-agency working, through to emotional health, truancy and the risks of visiting families in their homes. I have tried to write the book in a style that will make easy but informative reading for the ‘learning professional’ and the ‘caring parent’.
About the Author
My book shares the experience of nearly thirty years of working in the social inclusion and learner inclusion arena across England. I have worked at every level from Field Caseworker to Government National School Attendance Consultant. My first degree was in Applied Sociology followed by postgraduate studies in Child Psychology, Strategic Management and Preventative Mental Health. In those thirty years I have never met a parent who didn’t want their child to succeed, although I have met many who were not sure of how to go about making it happen.
