About the Author

Widowed at the age of 27 years young, Bernetta as a single mother raised two young boys ages (10 and 6) into manhood. “I will never lose my sons to the streets; children are an investment that require time, the more you put into the front end the less you have to put in on the back, and I would rather visit my child in their school than in jail,” were her favorite themes as she raised her sons in the Washington Metropolitan area. She now takes pride in sharing that her sons both have Masters Degrees and one is working on his Doctorate Degree, they have successful careers and families.

Bernetta has five grandchildren; one granddaughter is a student at Howard University in Washington DC.

The experience she shares in this book comes from the knowledge acquired from attending the International School of Protocol, located in Hunt Valley Maryland. She has conducted workshops for public schools, private schools, girl scouts, Sororities, dance schools, churches, private homes, and community groups.
