About the Author

Dr. Abdul Qayyum Rana is a Canadian Neurologist who is considered the authority in Parkinson's disease and Movement Disorders.  He is currently the Director of the Parkinson Clinic of Eastern Toronto and Movement Disorders Center located in Toronto, Canada.  Dr. Rana completed his residency training at the New Jersey Neuroscience Institute New Jersey, USA.   He then did a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Ottawa, Canada.  Dr. Rana is known around the world for his efforts to promoting the public awareness and enhancing the knowledge of Parkinson’s disease and Movement disorders among the health care professionals. Dr. Rana is also founder of World Parkinson's Education Program (http://www.parkinsonseducation.org).  This program provides a monthly electronic newsletter about various aspects of Parkinson's disease to thousands of physicians around the world free of charge. Dr.Rana  has written extensively on various aspects of Parkinson’s disease and Movement Disorders.  Some of the publications of Dr. Rana are as follows,
