About the Book

Beyond These Walls is an assemblage of Bible studies designed to incorporate God’s scripture as it relates to a person’s current environment. These studies enable the reader to witness God’s unconditional love, forgiveness, and deliverance. As the studies progress, they require the student to honestly assess his or her current situations as they relate to Biblical characters. This study was originally written for those incarcerated within a local jail. It is now applicable to any gathering of people desiring to meet God and satisfy the search for purpose.

“The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is on me, because the LORD has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners.”     Isaiah 61:1

About the Author

Leota Dahl was born and raised in a small rural community in northern Minnesota. She has been married to Josh Dahl for 60 years. Her family of eight children includes five daughters and three sons, six of whom are still living.

As a young girl attending a Christian camp she heard for the first time about Jesus Christ. Upon accepting Jesus Christ as her Savior she had a strong desire to become a missionary. But she was not to be the typical missionary.

Preparation for her ministry began by selling “Cloverene Salve” to purchase her first black King James Bible. The local church launched her first ministries through teaching Sunday School, Pioneer Clubs, and youth groups. She has been a speaker and leader in the “Aglow International Ministries.”

Having completed her highest calling of raising her family, she enrolled in Bemidji State University and graduated with a BS in Education. For the next 17 years she taught in the local school working with Native American students. From this teaching position a ministry on the White Earth Reservation was launched working with youth and women. With a vision for her community, she was joined by four other families to begin a “Christian Lending Library.”  A building was purchased between two taverns on main street. Here anyone is able to check out or bring in good Christian material.

Upon retirement, the Lord led her to take books, tapes, and videos to the local jail to share with inmates. This developed into weekly Bible studies for Leota. The “I Care Ministries” was established to be able to purchase Bibles and other support items for the inmates.

This book you are holding is the compilation of titles and scriptures that God used by the Holy Spirit, to inspire Leota.
