About the Book

Bare represents the gamut of my existence and accomplishments which would not have otherwise come to fruition absent challenges that I faced.  Writing is beneficial and helps me to strike a balance between daily activities and my inner self.  It provides calm during raging storms which seem to be endless.   Among them is sexual abuse and single parenting.  Add to this equation caretaker for aging and terminally ill parents twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.  Having been assaulted, raped, and physically beaten to take away my will in this century was both devastating and alarming.  This web of collusion caused me to constantly seek intricate and flexible solutions to combat underemployment and isolation.

Lines like fluent fountains continue to flow and finally there are so many verses that I was asked to publish them.   My perspective reflects the struggle against an unforgiving systematic sociological structure which is revolting.

Resolute to triumph, I conquer ignorance through both the word of God and academic subjects.  My prayer for America is that in the present moment, our leadership will be more inclusive of opportunities for women, especially black women.  The environmental forces and circumstances surrounding our success is different.  Change for the betterment of the nation and revisit the way employers treat and view all older workers.

About the Author

Some years ago a creative writing professor told me that I had “a good ear.”  I tend to classify myself as a “natural theorist.”  Over the years, my style of writing hasn’t changed too much.   Listening to people around me provides both inspiration and colloquial content.

My early years were spent in both Virginia and Philadelphia.  I attended the public schools in both states.  I received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Richmond, and fulfilled requirements for my Master of the Science from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Post graduate research has taught me two things.  Life will not alter too drastically since people tend to have the same basic needs: love; work; shelter; and progress.   Second, live each day with your eyes wide open while counting blessings and crossing your fingers!
