About the Book

Tapestry collects a number of the author's life experiences--some trivial, some introspective, some dealing with historical events. She re-creates these happenings in a style that is forthright and compelling and will pull the reader back in time along the strand of the tapestry she is describing. For instance, she may be dealing with a snake on her bathroom floor or remembering from her childhood the excitement of her family's first radio or, years later, the thrill of being present at a Presidential inauguration.

In a section entitled, "Persons I Wish I'd Met," three pieces of biographical interest are included. One of these is a chapter from Patricia Mote's popular biography of Cleveland's legendary television journalist, Dorothy Fuldheim.

About the Author

Although she is known as a writer of local history, in Tapestry Patricia Mote delves into her own treasury of memories of decades past. Though by no means a complete memoir, this collection of pieces provides insight into some of the author's life experiences. The reader will share with the author moments of joy and gratitude, of fear and pain. Patricia Mote writes wth clarity and directness that illuminates her experiences for readers. Her other books are Showers of Blessings: A Journey of Ohio Valley Life; Dorothy Fuldheim: The FIRST First Lady of Television News, and Upon the Rock: A Novel. She has written three books in Arcadia's Images of America Series: Berea, Columbus, and Cleveland's Playhouse Square. A retired educator, Patricia Mote is also a freelance editor and consultant. She has a B.A. degree from Hanover College and an M.S. from Indiana University.
