About the Book
Even as late as 1894, many ruthless outlaws roamed throughout the Southwest looking for men and women to prey upon—robbing, looting and killing whenever they felt the urge. If it weren’t for the dedicated lawmen that risked their lives daily to bring law and order to the West, it would be in total chaos to this very day. This is a story about a small group of brave Arizona rangers giving unselfishly of their time—and even their lives—to maintain the laws and protect the citizens of the vast Arizona Territory.
About the Author
CRAIG MAIN, a United States Air Force retiree and “baby boomer,” is an inspiring new author of western novels. Raiders of Salt River Canyon is his second novel, and the sequel to Shadow of the Mogollon Rim.
Though relocating recently to his home state of Indiana, he lived in Arizona for most of his adult life—beginning in January 1965. Arizona still had a significant Wild West ambiance in the early sixties, and numerous unspoiled places were always waiting to be discovered. Many ranchers still rode their horses into town on a regular basis. Western wear was the uniform of the day.
Craig spent a good deal of his free time camping, hiking, mountain biking, and hunting throughout central and northern Arizona, which includes the Mogollon Rim and Salt River Canyon regions. He is very familiar with the towns and locations mentioned in this exciting new novel. His character, Clint Wells, reflects his Western spirit. This is a novel that young adults and “baby boomers” alike can enjoy.
