The Durples

 “Good morning, class! Welcome back,” said Miss Plumtree in her usual cheerful voice. “We have a new student joining us this year. His name is Prince Moonlet Little Feathers.”

 Prince Moonlet Little Feathers was a handsome, little Native boy with big, brown eyes and long, thick eyelashes. He was a prince who was different from all of the other princes, for he was in a magical wheel chair.

“We are having Show and Tell today,” said Miss Plumtree.

 Mollyboo, Cindyloo, and Woodroo showed the class their mookaluke, the new musical instrument that their friend Odalee McBuddy from Elkton Forest had made for them. It was a large, colourful stick attached to a boot, with noisy things hanging all over it. It sure made nice music when they thumped it on the ground. Everybody loved the mookaluke!

 “Would you like to sing along to our new song? Would you?” Woodroo asked the class.

 Mollyboo thumped the mookaluke on the ground, and in rhythm, the whole class clapped their hands and sang along.

 All at once, the blue sky opened up, the clouds parted, and a beautiful princess emerged. It was the Magic Cloud Princess! She pointed her wand at Prince Moonlet Little Feathers and said in a magical voice, “You, my child, have been chosen. Your great-great-great-grandfather has decided to grant you a wish. He has chosen to give this wish to you now because he knows that you will choose the right one.”
