About the Book

Expressions from the Heart is the essence of life.  It is my own personal journey from darkness to light.  It is overcoming the loss of loved ones and experiencing the love and support of family and friends.   It is about affairs of the heart—an awakening of romance.  It is an appreciation of beauty and nature in all forms.  It is about beginning anew, going through changes, and taking a chance. It is about faith-I thank God for seeing me through the most difficult time in my life and enabling me to write this book.

About the Author

I was born Eda Marie Pittaluga on March 11, 1956.  I grew up on a farm with my loving parents, Norman ‘Hoot’ Pittaluga and Mary DePace Pittaluga.  I have two loving sisters, Carol and Vivian.  I am the youngest.    In 1982 I married Howard ‘Howie’ LaPolt.  We had a beautiful life together until he died of cancer in 2001. 

My journey as a writer actually began during my childhood.  I loved to draw and write poetry.  One of the poems in this book ‘A Child’s Idol’ was written when I was about 8 years old.  Luckily, my mother saved everything I ever wrote. 

Writing poetry to share with the public actually began in 1993, when I started submitting poetry to the National Library of Poetry.  From there, I continued to submit poetry which was published in various poetry magazines and anthologies.   One of my poems was purchased-copyright and all, by True Romance Magazine!   

I am a member of the National Poet’s Association from which I have 5 Editor’s Choice Awards.  I am also a member of the International Society of Poets and published in the

‘International Who’s Who in Poetry & Poets’.

I live close by to my beloved family, whom I cherish. I share my home with my three cats, Pebbles, Chloe, and Domino.
