The progeny of the blood was that which was both bond and free. Millions, were transported across the sea, huddled and shackled. The blood had been kidnapped from his own, by his own, to a land of no return for many. The labyrinth pens of mahogany became that of prime stock. As a peacock the blood stood proud and flamboyant. Beyond odds the blood stood with dignity and pride. The call of many years was drained, moving from yester-year unto today. The rush of time was unrestrained. The darkness of the night hid many. The era was that of a dangerous “Exodus.” The time was a period when many dangers and struggles were braved. Through an era of scorching criticisms, unearned suffering, obstacles, and more, the blood remained a man. Freedom was validated, and man was able to climb and reach the mountaintop. The shame of the blood became filled with pride. Inferiority became filled with dignity. The plight of reality became a dream. All mankind is of the father’s blood. We claim that heritage because it is poured out on the altar of rights. We stand on the shoulders of the father, acquiring an indomitable spirit which causes us to stand in a circle for freedom. Through yesterday we became a tomorrow and a today, where we are transplanted to be what we want to be.

B l o o d O f M y F a t h e r s Blood of My Fathers, a dramatic work of art, is a story told in poetic form about the migration of blacks from the African coast to the Americas. It is a short discourse that provides the innocence of an African pride made captive from the motherland. The blood is intertwined into the fabric of time. It is an era full of history, oppression, and sadness. It is a sojourner connection with echoes of the past. The beat of freedom became the beat of Africa’s rhythmic song. From a lacerated soul arose a wellspring of history. The blood endured and became “Children of the Dream.” The blood was borne free to the dream. The blood provided a legacy for all under a dark struggle. We have become a new generation of wisdom and accountability. The culture of me is of the “O” era. We have arisen beyond our past because the freedom of me is free.
