About the Author

Nancy Caruana is a working mother of two and has spent the past twenty years in Human Resources, Training, and Business Operations. Having experienced both the challenges and rewards of being a working mother, Nancy conceptualized the need for tools and resources to foster the emotional wellness of both working mother and child. Nancy has a BS in Business Management from Adelphi University and is currently pursuing her Masters Degree in Business Administration from Stevens Institute of Technology. Maurine Murphy has spent the past twelve years as a Human Resources professional, and has long recognized the need for support and education as it relates to the issues faced by working mothers. Her background in clinical social work has supported this interest, and has helped develop her capabilities in clinical research and coaching. Maurine has a BS in Psychology from Vassar College, and a Masters Degree from Columbia University, School of Social Work. About the Illustrator: Julie Stapen is a a new Mom and a professional photographer. Julie has spent many years photographing and documenting parent child relationships. Her passion for photographing the emotional bond between parents and their children has led her to take part in the development of "Melissa's Mommy Works." Julie is also an owner of a photography business, and has for the past five years, photographed for one of the top newspapers in the country. Julie has a BA in Visual Arts from New York University, and a Masters in Studio Arts from New York University.
