This book is for the general public, including Sunday school classes. Children will enjoy certain chapters, if not all.
"Follow That Light" starts at the genesis of creation. It walks us through the days of creation, what happened and leads us into the beginning of mankind-Adam and Eve.
Skip hell and step into Heaven. We are given an introduction to dying and how not to fear death. Follow that light, live the Golden Rule (do unto others as you wish them to do to you), die and go to Heaven.
The combination of church, prayer and faith can lead and carry one throughout life. The church is the sanctity. Prayer is a form of communication to reach and to speak with God Almighty. Faith is the food for our hearts, mind and souls to sustain us in every way.
Problems, choices and decisions confront us everyday of our lives including marriage and divorce. We learn what a marriage should encompass. We learn of pitfalls that can occur: adultery, fornication and divorce, all the while encouraging kindness and understanding. We learn the rules of marriage and divorce while reinforcing the power of wisdom and love.
We learn how to deal with evil spirits and read the sad story of evil people worshiping evil forces.
The story of our own little Lamb of God is told from birth to death.
Revelations becomes the revealing through the eyes of John the Divine. Lastly, knowledge to know enlightens our lives regarding many subjects. What foods can we eat? How much exercise is enough? We learn about the sin of homosexuality and how to cope with lawsuits. Fables and geneaology are subjects we should not concentrate on. Yet, drinking wine is recommended. Any person who gives a little, also receives a little, charity.
About the Author
Sheryl Patwardhan was raised on a farm in southwest Iowa, one of eleven children. After completing high school, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska.
She attended adult confirmation classes and joined the church in 1970, during which time she contributed her services as a Sunday school teacher and camp counselor.
She met Ramesh and married in 1977. His career as a Surgical Oncologist led them through Nebraska, Missouri, Oklahoma and onto Savannah, Georgia. There was not always a church of her choice available. She sent for and listened to sermons on tape. She became interested in reading and researching the Bible on her own. Through years of reading, writing and research, "Follow That Light" came about.
Her careers include the insurance industry of which she wrote a policy booklet, among other duties. Her life in the insurance world included the titles: Claims Auditor and Claims Examiner. Nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse was her profession.
She served as a docent for the Historic Savannah Foundatiuon, Davenport House. She held various positions with the Auxiliary to the Georgia Medical Society, including the presidency. On behalf of the Savannah Symphony Guild, she served as the first annual Chairman for the Savannah Duck Race.
She and her husband have travled extensively, visiting over twenty countries. In addition, gardening, cooking and walking are her hobbies.
