Rider

“Layne I hope that everything is fine.  Copper is almost prepared for the race.  He has been riding better the past few days.  His trainer plans to bring him back home in a few hours.  First I will bring you  and the children home from the station.  You should rest and then come see him.  Nothing else has changed around here.  Has anything changed for you or the children Layne.  I assume your trip went as expected“.  “Doctor Bren was kind to the children.  They are to young to know who him.  He does not plan to visit anytime soon“. 

“Layne you seem to have everything else going well for you at this time“.  She waited until after she took the children out of his car before she breathed heavily and went inside the house.  Layne quickly changed clothes.  She had prepared to leave to ride Copper.  By the time she bean to ride Copper she relaxed.  “Layne I want you to be careful“. Layne had not planned to take Copper too far.  She waited to see that the weather would hold before she went rode too far away from the stables.  Copper seemed as if he were going to remain calm.  Layne held unto his reins.  “When you ride Copper Layne you make me nervous.”  Horses can tend to become difficult.  They can suddenly decide to do what they want and make the rider become nervous.  I have fallen off a horse more than once.  I have been in the emergency rooms several times for stitches.  I would not want any of that to happen to you.  Especially since you have children Layne.  I know that you are a strong person but you have to consider your situations also sometimes“.  She fixed the hat that she had been wearing.  They had made plans for him to visit her later that evening.  He promised her that he would try to fix a section in her flooring that was damaged.  When she had come home Eden had bought her children to her an hour later.  She had to make a few errands and he thought that would be easier for her. 

“I would want to pay you for watching the children“. 

“Layne I had no issues with spending time with them.  I was working at the store.  Today they slept for the hour or so.  I will see you tomorrow“.  By the time Miller had come back to her home Samuel and Vincent were asleep.  She had already ate her dinner. 

“Layne I had not planned on coming as late.  My last instruction ran later than I thought.  Also the trainer was supposed to bring Copper back home“. 

“That is alright Miller.  I was actually reading from a novel.  I do have some dinner that is left from earlier.  Since I ate alone there is plenty left“.  He seemed to be grateful.  He began to eat.  He sat at the table and ate as she sat with him and drank a glass of wine.  After he finished, Layne began to wash the dishes as he worked on the flooring. 

“Layne you should be careful.  Whatever cleaning you used in the past has created these spots.  They should be able to be cleaned though.  Wooden floors are delicate in that manner“.  She had been grateful that he seemed to know what he was doing.  He had not spoken again as he concentrated on his work.  He worked for several hours. Layne had decided to remain on the couch as she read.  She took a break when she put the children away in their bedroom.  They slept in their baskets that night.  “Layne if you change your clothes you could assist me that way next time on your own you could remove the spots.  This solution needs to bought from the store.  If you add water then that should take care of them“.  Layne followed his instructions and together they finished the flooring.  “Layne I think that you have your floors back to normal”.
