About the Book

Divorce in America seems to be on a rampage and there seems to be no solution to the problem. Almost all resources state that 40-50% of marriages will end in divorce on their current heading, but things can possibly change (i.e. finances, children, health, marriage counseling). There is really no set numbers relating to marriages and divorces. It seems that there is a lot of differences between statistics. The possibility is that married couples are just living together despite their differences. Also, they may just stay separated and not get a divorce. The other solution may be that people are just living together more and not becoming married. It does not matter whether or not the numbers match up between the different statistics. It is a fact among all them that we do have a very serious problem. Can the Institution of Marriage be saved? What can be done about the divorce rate? Is there any possible solution? Our prayer and hope is that these questions will be answered through this book.

About the Author

Misty was born in 1972 and raised in Virginia Beach, VA. Her mom raised her due to her parents divorced when she was four years old. It was a difficult time for her being that her mom hated her father and men in general. She did not spend much time with her dad while she was growing up. After we were married she reunited with her dad and we were able to have a three year relationship with him. He passed away with pancreatic cancer in 1999. Also, in 2004 her mom passed away as well with Hodgkin’s Disease. Misty was born and raised in the Catholic Church and after we were married was converted to Pentecostal Holiness. Matthew was born in 1969 and raised in Orlando, FL. His parents were married in 1967 and have been married for forty years. His dad is an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Holiness Church. His mom has a Bible Teaching Degree from the International Seminary in Mount Plymouth, FL. They are still with us today. He joined the United States Navy in 1988 and was stationed in Norfolk, VA. This is where we met in August of 1991. Matthew was born into the Free Methodist Church and for a short time attended an Advent Christian Church and an Assemblies of God. At the age of 7 his parents joined a Pentecostal Holiness Church at which he spent the rest of his time until he joined the military. We now attend a non-denominated Church and our belief now is the entire Word of God not the basis of different denominations. We have been married since May 2nd of 1992 and now have 4 beautiful children.
