CHAPTER 1 “THE FOUNDATION” The year was 1978 and money was good; the hos were pulling major money. Silkworm’s Night Club was making more money than any nightclub in the city of Detroit at this time. Silkworm and Tom Tom were sitting in the caddy at the nightclub’s parking lot. People were coming in and out of the club; at the same time, Tom Tom was talking to Silkworm about putting some money off into the heroin business. Silkworm just dropped his head in discontent. As Silkworm lifted his head, he responded by saying, “Tom Tom, man, you have been trying to get me to pull the team off into the drug business for years now.” Tom Tom said quickly, “Man, just hear me out for a minute.” Silkworm just turned his head the other way and started looking out of the car window. Tom Tom grabbed Silkworm’s right arm and said, “Man, are you smoking this over?” Silkworm just looked at Tom Tom’s hand that was still clasped on his arm; then he looked at Tom Tom, straight in his eyes, with a penetrating look that any man would understand meant “Get your hands off me.” Silkworm just said to Tom Tom, after Tom Tom let his arm go, “Yeah, I’m going to hear you out, just don’t put your fucking hands on me again!” Tom Tom started talking about how much money they could make moving the product, and talking down o
