"We've dropped another fifty kilometers and the squadron is beginning to form up. Looks like they are forming into teams of four, and they are arming weapons."
"John, it's Killian. That's a standard attack pattern. Lead two flyers will fire while rear two will give cover. Since we powered up our defenses its SOP. We have about two minutes before their attack run."
"Protective shielding is at maximum, outer hull armor is engaged. We should be ready.," John answered.
"John, hold your fire till my mark. We need the majority of them to get in close," Robbins said.
"Roger that."
"Commander Pock, Revelation has dropped below minimum threshold. Begin attack sequence delta three."
For a moment Pock hesitated, somewhat sickened by the order to fire on the helpless vessel. But it wasn't his job to question.
"Cobra squadron. This is Pockman. Attack pattern delta three, I'm in the lead. Form up and start your runs."
"But sir, there are civilians on board that ship."
"Can it Cobra four. Do your job. That's an order!"
All the ships in each group formed up on the lead ship, their wingmen a scant ten feet away as they prepared to blast the ship out of the sky. The plan called for key areas to be hit first, putting defensive weapons out of commision first, then going on to the coil reactors to explode the ship harmlessly in space. An easy task for a seasoned squad of fighters.
"They're firing! All hands prepare for impact!"
"Hold your fire, John!"
Suddenly the gigantic city-sized vessel was rocked by powerful particle beams bombarding the ship's protective shielding. The ship was taking a pounding from the smaller but powerful fighter weapons.
"Robbins, they are trying to take out our guns first. We are about to be totally defenseless, " John screamed.
"Hold your fire! We only get one shot at this!"
Sparks and people were flying everywhere as alarms broadcast the direct hits and their damage. Adam grimaced as he desperately and quite helplessly held onto the arms of his chair. He quickly looked down at his seat harness to ensure it was nice and tight. Rick and the rest of the crew were doing the same as they realized artificial gravity had again been disabled.
"Scott!" yelled John.
"Not yet," Scott answered calmly, as the ship was again rocked with explosions.
"Again a tense John screamed, "Scott!"
Again, Scott responded with a, "Not yet!" The ship seemed to steadily rock and shake with explosions under the bombardment fire.
"Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, Commander Robbins calmly uttered the words, "Now John."

About the Author
In 1999, at the peak of his successful sales career with Abbott Laboratories, Rodney Davis was traveling as often as eighteen days out of the month. In between sales manuals and self help books, Rodney would often enjoy the escape that came from reading science fiction. Unfortunately, his love for science fiction often clashed with his strong Christian ethics, and he found himself sometimes reading books that he felt were inappropriate for a man of faith.
To solve this problem, he decided to write his own book, one that filled the void of science fiction written from the perspective of a professing Christian. From this beginning has the basis for his first novel, “The Revelation Voyage,” which is book one of “The Revelation Series.”
Along with its strong foundation of Biblical principles, “The Revelation Voyage” also pays homage to strong and loving influences from Rodney’s past and present. Some key characters in the book are named after friends and loved ones who have greatly influenced him, along with key characters who are actually named for his sons. Done by design, this was always intended to be a loving legacy for his children and friends.
Along with his love of storytelling, Rodney is committed to helping others. Whether through his business coaching practice where he mentors business owners helping them create their dream businesses, or through his motivational speaking and personal growth teachings, or his work in his home church in the north Georgia mountains outside of Atlanta, Rodney strives to help others achieve everything God plans for them.
Rodney currently resides with his wife, Marilyn, in Dawsonville, GA, where he maintains his successful business coaching practice while he is writing book two of “The Revelation Series” which is called “The Revelation Planet.” He is also working on his first self help book, which he says “is a joyous compilation of all my learnings from the last thirty years of business life.”
