The I AM Single

The mind is a camera.  The eyes deposit snapshots of the visible world in our mind.  This makes the eyes the most dangerous gates of influence.  This is why the adult entertainment industry revenue is more than 13 billion a year in the United States.  The United States produces over 90% of the pornographic videos in the world.  It is easy to see why our nation is falling apart.  The spiritual foundation we once had is crumbling and falling apart at the seams.  What was righteous has now become unrighteous.  Men have become lovers of pleasures rather than lovers of God.  All it takes is a peek to get a person hooked on pornography.  Once their eyes see that material and process that snapshot, it is stored in their mind forever.  That snapshot can be replayed in the form of fantasizing and lived out through masturbation.  Single Christians have to gird up the loins of their mind and guard it against the contaminations of the world.  There are many principles that can be learned through books such as Every Woman’s and Every Man’s Battle.  These are great resources for married and single Christians who desire to keep their eyes, minds, and hearts pure.  We are the righteousness of God.  We can’t go to every movie that comes out or listen to every CD that is being sold in the record stores.   As single men we can’t go around looking at women as body parts disrespecting them. As single women you can’t go around wearing clothes that are to tight just to show off your physical assets.  These things should not be once named among you.  Be separate says the Lord. Touch not the unclean thing and live a glorious life filled with purpose, enjoyment, and excitement. 

    When Jesus said “let those who have an ear to hear, hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying” he was making a declaration of how important listening is.  He was not referring to hearing with the two natural appendentures attached to the sides of our heads.  He spoke of spiritual hearing.  During the course of a day, so much pollution passes through our ears via, people, radio, television, music, noise, etc.  The majority of the time we can’t help what we hear.  We have to develop selective hearing.  We have to develop ourselves to hear from the Holy Spirit more than anything else.  He talks to us all day long.  When we get quiet we can hear him clearly.  Sometimes we get certain unctions to do things.  Everywhere you go you hear about some threat of disaster.  When this happens use that selective hearing and block that junk out.  Don’t let it reach your spirit.  If it reaches your spirit you will began to faint just like the unbelievers.  These gates must be closely guarded.  They are your first line of defense against Satan's fiery darts of destruction.
