About the Author
Jessie Bailey Crook and her husband, Tom, live on a small farm near Columbus, Ohio. It was at their Sunnyfield Farm that they enjoyed the company of Jessie's "schoolyard dogs," Cameron and Simba, and their inherited dog, Trixster. Jessie is a life-long dog lover, having grown up on another Ohio farm with many hunting dogs around the place. During her career as a classroom teacher and then as the curriculum coordinator at an international studies and foreign languages middle school, Jessie was involved in regular international travels with her students and for her Global Education degree. Tom was also a teacher, so they spent many summers together in domestic travel, camping and touring with their motorcycle. Everywhere she went Jessie enjoyed greeting dogs and easily engaging their owners in dog-talk. "Dogs I've Met" is the result of those encounters. Jessie is dogless now, which is, as she says, "No way for a dog lover to be!" But since retiring, she and Tom spend most of the year at their golf course condo in Florida and enjoy regular travel elsewhere. Owning a dog isn't possible right now but enjoying other people's dogs provides some of the regular "dog fix" that she needs.
