Lady spent the night crying and crying to the point where her tear ducts began to ache and sore. She never cried so hard since her best friend died back when she fifteen. Her sister got up at four o’clock in the morning to use the bathroom. She walked into Lady’s room to hear Lady sobbing.
“What’s wrong, sissy?”
“Nothing, Dana. Leave me be.”
Dana felt around until she found Lady who was on the floor next to her bed. She hugged her big sister and kissed her on her cheek, “You can’t be like this, Lady. I love you, Damon loves you, and Neil loves you!”
“That’s not the case,” Lady whined.
Dana sat on the floor with Lady but Lady buried her head on Dana’s shoulder, “I can’t freaking take it no more! Neil wants to cite with Stacy and he doesn’t see thing my way.”
Dana tried to cheer up her sister but nothing worked. Blueberry, Dana’s seeing-eye dog, walked into the room. He rested his head between Lady and Dana.
“See, Lady. Blueberry loves you too.”
“See? You can’t see!!”
Dana jumped from the floor, “Maybe my eyes don’t work but, my ears do. Right now, they’re telling me that you are in a pissy mood and I better get the hell out of here before I get killed.”
Lady felt more stupid for lashing out on her poor sister. Lady got up from her bed and at five o’clock in the morning and walked out her house. She walked onto the platform at Ashland and got on the first train that sat on the platform. The door folded shut and the train slowly crept toward the east. At Wentworth she got off and walked onto the Red Line platform.
After a decent ride in a empty cold subway car, she got off at 103rd/Bishop Ford. A long walk followed. West on 103rd and down Cottage Grove. A South Shore train sped by on its way to Indiana right next to Lady. At 105th, she walked under the Metra tracks and right before the next street was Neil’s Monte Carlo.
It was six in the morning and the lights in Neil’s house was fully lit. She was about to knock on the door when the door swung open.
“Lady? What are you doing here?” Neil asked as he hugged her.
Lady opened her mouth but before any words can come out a voice called from the background, “Neil, who’s that at the door?”

About the Book
It's Alice R. Francesco High School's first year in operation. Six teens from different parts of the U.S. come here to attend this new state-of-the-art school in the notorious southside of Chicago. New Yorkers, Lisa and Neil meet up with Bronx native, Stacy and her Chicago based best friends, Elliot and Drip. Not to mention they all get along with their new friend Lady who's brand new from northern Colorado. Together, they will go through the only emotional rollercoaster to become friends, lovers, and much more. Join them as they travel near and far and get down like real teenagers are suppose to. Grab your skate and skate at "Galaxy Spaceship" or cruise down the Dan Ryan Expressway on 24's. Whatever you choose, it's going to be a fun ride.
About the Author
Hi, I'm Nicholas B. Maione and this is my story. I was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1992 to a Puerto Rican mother and Italian father. I got into the arts as a young boy. Growing up in the intercity, it was hard to do anything possitive but I manage to work on drawing subway trains and building lego cities. When I was 11 we moved from Brooklyn to the Freehold area of New Jersey. That's where I'd get a better prosective of things. I wrote my first short story in 2006 about a gay girl who would cover her sexualty with her A.D.H.D.. From then on, that when I began to write stories. When I got to high school, I found loads of insiration that would help me create more stroies. After freshmen year, I began work on "Southriderz: Love At First Kiss". I completed the novel and now I'm currently working on a sequal.
