I’m a very result-driven individual who is very sensitive and
giving. It has often been said that I care about others more than I
care about myself. Personal brands are also built on your upbringing
and past events that have molded you into who you are. Part of
my brand was developed from having a tough relationship with
my dad. He was very hard on me. We use to battle all the time,
but I was my dad’s favorite. My dad is seventy-eight, with many
physical ailments today. He always worked extremely long hours
every day and held down two jobs to provide for the family. He
was perfectly fine during the week because he had to work but
when the weekend rolled around, he would drink like a fish until
Monday morning. When I became an adult, I asked him to go
into rehab. The good thing that I can say is that I have always
loved my dad. I have grown into who I am today because of the
relationship I had with my father. He never missed a school event,
game, or important activity throughout our school years.
By opening up to those men, they were more comfortable
opening up to me. I discovered that every man in that room had
something in his past that had changed his life and molded his
personal brand.
