About the Author

Dr. Chukwunenye Emmanuel Okeafor attended St. Gregory's School, Ihitteafukwu, and Boys' High School, Ekwerazu, Nigeria.  He studied Agronomy at Alvan Ikoku College of Education, Owerri, Umuahia Campus, and obtained his National Certificate in Education in Crop, Soil, and Animal Science.  He did his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program in Kaduna State, and taught Agricultural Science at ATC, Katsina for one year before proceeding to the United States for further studies.   

 

He obtained his Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Business Management, with a minor in Marketing.  His Master's degrees are in Educational Administration and Leadership (M.Ed.), Agricultural and Extension Education (MS), and Public Administration and Policy Studies (MPA).  Dr. Okeafor received his Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Agricultural Education. 

 

He did his research study in Perceptions regarding the process of teaching Sustainable Agricultural systems.  He has certificate in Environmental Studies, and has taught Environmental Science, Earth Science, Life Science, General Science, Biology, and Instructional Technology, at college and secondary school levels. 

 

Dr. Okeafor also has certificate in Mediation, and has worked with many Special Education students, including those struggling to fit into the mainstream educational system.  He has taught at the Homeless Children and Youth, and currently teaching Special Education at Alamo Navajo Community School, New Mexico.      

 

He has extensive knowledge about agricultural systems, especially as it is done in developing societies.  He is a member of the National Science Teachers' Association (NSTA).  In 2000, he was nominated to receive the “All American Scholar” award, for academic excellence. 

 

In 2002, he was also nominated to receive the “National Collegiate Minority Leadership” award, and in 2004/2005, he got another nomination to receive the “Chancellor’s List Scholars” award.  Dr. Okeafor loves literal and debating society, reading, and writing.
