The Big House
This is dedicated to all those who are in The Big House.
They call this the big house; it's a house for all kinds.
From miles around they come to do time.
My crime was for money in a desperate time, but the money I went for was not even mine.
So now I am in the big house just doing my time.
For the crime of desperation I've got more then five.
It's a long hard road I go down.
I tell you now; desperation is not worth the time.
There are all kinds of people with all kinds of crime.
Inside the gates they are just doing time.
I look all around me and my heart feels sad.
For the next five years I am considered the bad.
Sitting in the big house you can't look at time, because time doesn't matter when you're paying for crime.
The price for desperation is too high to pay.
When they take away your freedom and lock you away.
Confusion
Voices everywhere, speaking loud speaking clear, saying nothing just floating in the air
People to my left, people to my right, people in front of me, people in back
Always on the move, going here, going there, and yet not going anywhere
A child cry's for it's mother, off in the distance you can hear the crying
The mother cry's for her mate, off in the distance you can hear laughter as her mate plays games
People laughhing, people crying, people coming, people going
Round and round people go, with no place to go , destination unknown
Confusion, confusion, mass confusion
When did it start and when will it all end???

About the Book
This is a book of poetry that was inspired by the spirit within me, while I was serving a five year sentence in Hardwick Ga. Woman's correctional Prison. While I was in prison, I realized that although they can lock up my body, they can not lock up my mind or my soul. There are many different prisons to be in. You may be out in the working world and still be in prison in your life. No matter what kind of prison you are in, the only one who can set you free is God.
Don't let your prison lock you up. Set your mind and soul free. I hope when you read "Freedom Within" you will learn how to be free while you are in your prison. I also hope you find the key that will open ALL prison doors.
About the Author
FrankieLee J. is one of four adopted children who grew up in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. She spent her summer days ridding her horse, and making up songs to sing and play on her guitar while ridding. She loves music and poetry and a good mystery book. She left home when she was 17 to start her travels through life down destinies trail. The life she lives is the inspiration for all of her poetry.
This book was brought to light while doing a 5 year sentence in the Georgia State Woman's Correctional Institution. Most of the poems in this book were written while in prison. She is quoted to say "They can lock up your body but they cannot lock up your mind". The time she spent in prison was a life altering experience. One she will never forget and one she hopes will teach others. No matter how hard life gets, it will never be to hard to handle. She said the reason she wanted to publish this book is so people can see, that not everyone who goes into prison will always be a prisoner. She told her counselor many times, "Just because a snake is a snake, dose not mean a criminal will alwasys be a criminal".
