About the Author

Ishmael Adjetey Osekre was born in Accra, West Africa - Ghana. He attended high school at the Presbyterian Boy's Secondary School before attending Columbia University in New York.

Osekre discovered his passion for writing and arguably begun what is now known as the spoken word movement in Ghana. "A word to the wise with Osekre" was one of the most followed radio segments on morning shows in Accra.

Osekre has presented his poetry at Harvard, Princeton, MIT, Yale, Cornell, on WBAI a public radio station on Wall Street, and at the Apollo theatre. Osekre currently hosts the “late city edition” on WKCR 88.9fm at Columbia University and is a columnist for the Columbia Spectator.

After completing his first script “Destiny in the hands,” he is currently working on his second movie script, “Changes.”
