Good question! Let us talk about it- I did not ask to be raped or sexually assaulted. Rape is a violent assault where intercourse takes place without both parties consent. Sexual assault encompasses a violent or verbal attack with the intent to rape.
Rape and Sexual Assault also known as sexual abuse comes in many forms, some that are listed:
Childhood Sexual Abuse: One is raped, sexually assaulted, and/or molested during their childhood years.
Stranger Rape: A person who the victim does not know rapes them.
Acquaintance Rape: The victim knows their attacker, although they are not a close friend or family member.
Date Rape: The victim is dating the person who rapes them.
Multiple Rapes (gang rape): More than one person rapes the victim.
Marital Rape: The dominant spouse forces their mate into sexual intercourse.
Statutory Rape: Sexual intercourse with a person who is below
the statutory age of consent.
Whenever a female or male is raped or sexually assaulted- that person is traumatized as well as victimized. Victims of sexual assault are affected in many ways unknown to themselves and have experienced dysfunctional episodes in their lives that are physical, psychological (mental and emotional), and spiritual in nature. They are also never completely able to rid themselves of their dysfunctions without professional help. They simply bury every painful event related to the incidence in their subconscious mind- only to surface again disguised as a different dysfunction in their lives.
Research supports the theory that many lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgender lifestyle choices are the result of being sexually abused as children. Children that have been abused are also more likely to engage in risky sex, exchange sex for money, become drug users, and drug abusers.[1]
Other findings also indicate that victims of sexual assault experience withdrawn behavior from inappropriate sexual intimacy, anorexia/ bulimia, self-injury, and suicide alongside other psychological traumas.

Most people either knows some one who has been sexually assaulted or have been a victim- themselves. Sexual predators come from every walk of life and will assault anyone who appears to be fair game regardless of that person's : Age,Race ,Gender or socio-economic status. Dr. Gayle reviews this topic from a victim/victors' perspective using vital statistics and "real talk" with the express purpose of teaching the public about the physiological and psychological chains that sexual assault has on its constituents . It is also design to encourage dialogue about this topic so that communties can develop ways of not only protecting females but also their male conterparts. Limited discussion is given to the male victim of sexual assault. Historically,Critics do not want to address this population because of the implications that it has on the males' ability to protect themselves. However, because of the escalating numbers of sexual assaults in the male population-this group was addressed. Finally we address three cases of sexual assault outlined in the bible and ascertain what God says about it. We can no longer allow this societal ill to remain like the "Pink Elephant"in the living room that no one talks about.We must eliminate this problem!
