Diamond Chaser was about to take leave when a voice came from the trees."You leave her to die unicorn?" "Who speaks?" Diamond Chaser yelled, looking for movement. The voice replied, "Unicorn, you will know my name in time, but I must see the girl." "Never! You unicorn murderer. I can smell the fresh blood on you of a unicorn." "Then she will die before you return." Diamond Chaser blew through his nostrils with annoyance. "Aright, come forward, but if you hurt her, I will kill you." A mans face came from the shadows grinning, "Not likely unicorn." He went to Coda and picked her up, placing her on a slate rock. He picked up her arm and looked at the sting on her hand. Putting his lips up to it, blew on the wound, making a frost appear that traveled up her arm.She began to shiver and sweat at the same time. He placed his cape over her, turning to Diamond Chaser. "What are you waiting on, unicorn, you haven't much time. I have only slowed the poison, it will not save her. Now go, I shall stay here until you return." Diamond Chaser had no time to argue, he turned and without another word, ran hard into the deepest part of the forest.Running until he came to a great tree. "Fairies of the forest, please come, a maiden has been hurt by the sting of a ground crawler." Three voices came from up in the tree, talking as one.ave her?" He thought a moment. He knew what they wanted. With a serious voice he said, "I will give my life." The voices giggled, "Thats no fun, he already knew what we wished to have." Then one of the voices said in a playful manner, "I know, let's make him play the game." The other voices agreed. "Unicorn, we will give you one guess, to pick which hollow rock holds the antidote. If you choose wrong, you will share her fate. Is this agreed upon?" He had no time to say other wise. "It's agreed,by the word of all unicorn promises." Giggles now came from the forest floor. There sat three fairies on a flower.Next to them were three large rocks. "The game is simple, prince Diamond Chaser. Pick the rock you wish. If it is correct, you may leave with the antidote. If you pick the wrong one, that holds a ground crawler, you must willingly let it sting you." Diamond Chaser knew without trying, that the fairies had stripped him of his powers for the time of the game. So he went to the one on the right, then said "I choose the left one." The stone lifted and a ground crawler was beneath it. He had failed.
